Does Any of This Feel Familiar?
Burnout is more than having a stressful week. It can affect your energy, motivation, relationships, concentration, and sense of meaning long after the immediate pressure has passed.
Exhaustion That Rest Does Not Fix
Feeling physically and emotionally drained, waking up tired, or needing more recovery time than you used to.
Dreading Work or Responsibilities
Feeling a wave of heaviness before work, school, caregiving, or even ordinary tasks that once felt manageable.
Detachment and Numbness
Going through the motions, caring less than you want to, or feeling emotionally distant from people and activities.
Irritability and Low Patience
Becoming frustrated more quickly, feeling overstimulated, or having less emotional space for the people around you.
Difficulty Concentrating
Struggling to focus, make decisions, remember details, or begin tasks because your mental energy feels depleted.
Loss of Meaning or Motivation
Questioning whether your effort matters, feeling cynical, or losing connection with goals that used to motivate you.
Therapy That Goes Beyond “Take a Break”
A weekend off may bring temporary relief, but it often does not address the demands, beliefs, and patterns that keep burnout going. Our work focuses on understanding how you reached this point and building changes that are realistic within your actual life.
Understand the Burnout Pattern
Identify the pressures, expectations, roles, and coping habits that have kept your system in a prolonged state of overload.
Rebuild Limits and Capacity
Practice clearer boundaries, more sustainable pacing, and recovery habits that support your energy without requiring you to abandon every responsibility.
Reconnect With What Matters
Clarify what deserves your energy and make decisions that reflect your values rather than guilt, pressure, or constant urgency.
How I Work With Burnout
I draw primarily from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and a person-centered approach. We may examine perfectionism, over-responsibility, people-pleasing, avoidance, and the rules you have learned about productivity or worth.
We can also explore the workplace, family, cultural, or relationship dynamics contributing to the pressure you carry. Some sessions are reflective. Others focus on boundaries, communication, and concrete changes. We decide together what is most useful.
The Goal
The goal is not simply to help you tolerate an unsustainable situation. It is to help you recover, understand your limits, make clearer choices, and build a life in which your well-being is not always the last priority.
When Burnout Shows Up in the Body
Chronic stress and burnout can be accompanied by headaches, muscle tension, stomach discomfort, disrupted sleep, fatigue, or feeling constantly activated. These symptoms can have many causes, so appropriate medical evaluation matters. In therapy, we can explore how prolonged stress may be interacting with your physical experience without dismissing what your body is telling you or replacing medical care.
Online Burnout Therapy for Adults and Teens
For Adults
Burnout in adulthood may grow from work demands, caregiving, relationship strain, financial pressure, or carrying too many roles for too long. Therapy can help you understand the pressure you carry and decide what needs to change.
For Teens Ages 13+
For teens, burnout may show up through school exhaustion, procrastination, irritability, declining motivation, perfectionism, or withdrawing from activities. Parent or guardian involvement is discussed based on age, needs, and privacy requirements.

Common Questions About Burnout Therapy
Is burnout a mental health diagnosis?
Burnout itself is not a formal mental health diagnosis, but the exhaustion and distress are real. You do not need a diagnosis to seek support. We can also assess whether anxiety, depression, trauma, or another concern may be contributing.
How can I tell whether this is burnout, stress, or depression?
Stress often eases when a demand passes. Burnout tends to involve ongoing depletion, detachment, or reduced effectiveness. Depression can affect mood and interest across many areas of life. These experiences can overlap, and therapy can help clarify the pattern.
Do I have to quit my job or make a major life change?
No. Therapy is not about pushing you toward a predetermined decision. We can look honestly at what is and is not sustainable, strengthen boundaries and communication, and help you make choices with greater clarity.
Can I attend therapy if I take medication?
Yes. Many clients use therapy alongside medication. I do not prescribe medication, but with your written permission I can coordinate with your prescriber when that would support your care.
Do you accept insurance?
I currently accept Aetna, Florida Blue, and Cigna. Coverage varies by plan. Headway verifies your benefits and provides a cost estimate before your first session. Self-pay is also available.
Are sessions available in Spanish?
Yes. Online burnout therapy is available in English or Spanish for clients who are physically located in Florida during the session.
