Online Therapy for Teens in Florida
The teenage years can bring pressure from school, friendships, family expectations, identity, and a mind that does not always slow down. I provide online therapy for teens ages 13 and older who need a private, respectful place to understand what they are feeling and find practical ways forward.

When a Teen Is Having a Hard Time
Sometimes the change is obvious. Other times, parents notice that a teen is more withdrawn, irritable, overwhelmed, or unlike themselves. Therapy can help when emotions, thoughts, or habits begin to interfere with school, relationships, sleep, confidence, or everyday life.
Anxiety and Overthinking
Constant worry, panic, reassurance-seeking, perfectionism, or difficulty switching off racing thoughts.
Low Mood and Withdrawal
Pulling away from friends or family, losing interest, feeling hopeless, or struggling to get started.
School Stress and Burnout
Academic pressure, procrastination, test anxiety, attendance problems, or feeling unable to keep up.
ADHD and Follow-Through
Difficulty organizing, focusing, managing time, regulating frustration, or completing what they intended to do.
Self-Esteem and Identity
Harsh self-criticism, comparison, uncertainty about who they are, or feeling that they do not fit in.
Family and Relationship Stress
Conflict at home, friendship problems, breakups, loneliness, boundaries, or difficulty expressing what they need.
Therapy That Respects the Teen and Supports the Family
A teen is more likely to engage when therapy feels like a place where they are heard, not another place where an adult tells them what is wrong. Parents also deserve clarity, guidance, and a thoughtful way to stay involved. I work to create room for both.
For Teens
You do not need to arrive knowing exactly what to say. We can begin with what feels most immediate and work at a pace that helps you feel comfortable enough to be honest.
For Parents
You can share what you have noticed, ask practical questions, and receive guidance on how to support progress without turning therapy into another source of pressure at home.
What Sessions Are Like
Sessions are collaborative and conversational. We make room to understand what is underneath the problem while also working on changes that can make everyday life feel more manageable.
Understand the Pattern
We look at triggers, thoughts, emotions, physical reactions, relationships, and habits so the problem becomes less confusing.
Build Useful Skills
We practice ways to handle worry, strong emotions, avoidance, conflict, procrastination, or physical stress responses.
Work Toward Their Goals
Progress is connected to what matters to the teen, such as feeling calmer, reconnecting, communicating better, or functioning more consistently.
How Parent Involvement and Privacy Work
A parent or legal guardian is involved in consent and practical setup. At the same time, therapy works best when a teen has meaningful privacy and can speak honestly. At the beginning, I explain what information stays private, the limits of confidentiality, and how safety concerns are handled. We also agree on a useful plan for parent check-ins so everyone understands what to expect.
My Approach With Teens
I draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), person-centered therapy, and practical emotion-regulation strategies. When useful, we also pay attention to how stress shows up physically. The work is adapted to the teen rather than expecting every teen to respond to the same method.
I do not expect a teen to trust therapy immediately. Building a real working relationship is part of the work, not a prerequisite for it.
Online Therapy Across Florida
Online sessions can make therapy easier to fit around school, activities, transportation, and family schedules. The teen needs a private space, a reliable internet connection, and must be located in Florida at the time of the session. We can discuss whether telehealth is an appropriate fit during the consultation or first appointment.

Individual therapy for teens ages 13 and older.

What Getting Started Looks Like
1. Choose a Starting Point
Schedule a first session through Headway or request a free 15-minute consultation if you would rather ask questions first.
2. Clarify the Concerns
We discuss what the teen and parent have noticed, what has already been tried, and what each person hopes will change.
3. Build a Plan Together
We agree on initial goals, parent involvement, and a session rhythm that fits the teen’s needs and practical circumstances.
Common Questions About Teen Therapy
What ages do you work with?
I provide individual therapy for teens ages 13 and older, as well as adults, who are located in Florida during sessions.
Can a parent be part of sessions?
Yes. Parent participation can be helpful, especially at the beginning or when a specific family issue needs attention. We decide together when involvement supports the teen’s treatment.
What if my teen is unsure about therapy?
That is common. I do not expect immediate openness or enthusiasm. A consultation can help a parent ask practical questions first, and the first session gives the teen a chance to decide how the space feels.
Will parents be told everything discussed?
No. Teens need meaningful privacy for therapy to work. I explain confidentiality and its safety-related limits clearly, and we agree on how general progress and parent check-ins will be handled.
Do you accept insurance?
I accept Aetna, Florida Blue, and Cigna through Headway. Coverage and cost vary by plan, and Headway verifies benefits before the first session. Self-pay is also available.
Are sessions available in Spanish?
Yes. Sessions are available in English or Spanish. Parents and teens can also use different languages when that makes communication easier.
A First Conversation Can Make the Next Step Clearer
You can schedule a first session directly or request a free 15-minute consultation to ask about fit, availability, insurance, or how online therapy would work for your teen.
